International Adviser

These two specialists, who include curators, researchers, and journalists, are from all different parts of the world and are working as International Advisors for CAMK. During their two-year employment at the museum, they will be active in offering world art information to CAMK in the form of essay contributions to the annually published magazine "Art Gamadas," lectures, etc.

Simon Martin

Simon Martin

Simon Martin is Assistant Curator at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester. He read History of Art at the University of Warwick and was subsequently awarded an MA in Cultural Identity and Modern European Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.
He has curated a number of exhibitions of British artists and written publications including 'Modern British Art at Pallant House Gallery' (2004) and 'Poets in the Landscape: The Romantic Spirit in British Art' (2007) and ‘Colin Self: Art in the Nuclear Age’ (2008).

Carol Yinghua Lu

Carol Yinghua Lu (Guangdong, China, 1977) studied English Literature (BA) at the Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou (1995-99) and graduated in the Critical Studies, Malmo Art Academy, Sweden (2004-2005). She was the China researcher for Asia Art Archive (2005-2007). She is the contributing editor for Frieze and the co-editor of Contemporary Art & Investment magazine as well as a frequent contributor to a number of international art journals such as e-flux. Her texts on contemporary art have appeared in many art catalogues, books and magazines.

She has co-instructed the 2007 summer course of BA and MA art and architecture students from the California College of Art, acted as the art consultant for the Olympic Museum Lausanne on a major exhibition about China and was on the jury for Prohelvetia, the Swiss Arts Council for selecting cultural projects for its programme “China 2008-2010”. She was a jury member for Geisai # 11 in Tokyo and moderated a panel in frieze art fair in 2008.

Her recent curatorial work includes “The Temperament of Detail” in Red Mansion Foundation, London, “Foreign Objects” in the Project Space of Kunsthalle Wien in Vienna, “The Weight of Reality” in Marella Gallery, Beijing, two curatorial projects in ARCO’06 and ARCO’07, Madrid, “Community of Taste”-The Inaugural Exhibition of Iberia Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing, and “There is No Story to Tell – An Exhibition of International Artists” in Tang Contemporary, Beijing. She is the founder and art director of SUITCASE ART PROJECTS, a project space of Today Art Museum that follows the Situationist tradition to engage and exist in the intellectual and physical multiplicities of urban reality. She is the curator for a documentary exhibition on Fang Lijun that will tour to Taipei Art Museum, Guangdong Museum of Art and Today Art Museum. She has also been selected as a fellow of the International GAM workshop “Global Seminar” at the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe in 2009.
